the key thing is that gravity tries to work with weird concept restrictions... from what I see of the current state of GX here are the restrictions that gravity imposed to the class:
Crappy Aoes: GXs Aoes cannot be higher them 3x3 unless a cast and or aftercast delay is involved and even so it's 5x5 at max
Restricted Range: Gxs are envisioned to be mainly mellee fighters so all ranged skills must have one or more restrictions: cross ripper and it's counter dependancy, soulbreaker and the delay, venon knife non edpable, grimtooth only in hidding and without edp boost.
Weapons are everything: GX is pretty much being balanced to be very weapon dependant... Edp is the main indicator of this... also if you think about it... most of the cool stuff a GX can do is because of the weapon he's using rather then an innate skill... no saying that other classes don't depend on their equipment, but in a different way than GX
(it's important to point out that GX was the target of a lot of criticism toward balance just because cross impact range was 3... infact because cross impact had the highest attack modifier of the third classes it was the biggest target of criticism for a while,granted that while it had no animation it was as broken as possible and some players tried to pretend that was fair, but them when the 3-2s started ranking up the damage of the game a lot of changes that were made to protect an outdated damage balance, were not reviewed... most of the gx skill concepts were turned somewhat outdated and so on)
